School’s BACK for the Summer

So I’m not sure why they call it Summer now, maybe because it’s hot. Costa Rica really just has wet and dry seasons. December and January was summer break for kids in school. The beaches were packed more than usual and children were everywhere!

Strange Flowers

Kids are back in school now and the beaches have fewer people. Strangely though this is the time when the trees bloom yellow, orange, poppy, and pink flowers. I find it strange because it’s so dry these days. So different than from October. On the walk down our dirt road to the beach these lovely flowers fall to the ground.

I woke up with this in my head this morning and wanted to share it with you. (I especially love that Spanish subtitles!) Thankfully it’s not what my dad used to wake me up with (Raffi on a boom box he’d carry through the house).

Here’s another number from Singing In The Rain that I LOVE:

By the way, did you catch Joseph Gordon-Levitt do his version of it on SNL? Good stuff! (He even does the wall flips!)

Ok, and one last favorite from “Singing in the Rain.” This one has great tap dancing.

Side note: I used to tap dace a lot and even competed in New York (with my arch-nemesis from middle school, but don’t see her that way anymore) and we won second place! I love it so much I’ve even taken classes and performed as an adult! It’s just so darn fun!
